TERRY LaFRANCE
Practical Christian Living
God
placed a calling in Terry’s life when she was
only 10-years-old. She first accepted Jesus into
her heart during a “2nd Chapter of
Acts” Christian music concert that she attended
with her older sister in 1980. Though she could
not have known at that young age the challenges
that were to come, she remembers the joy she
felt knowing Jesus now lived in her heart!
Raised in a strong,
loving, Catholic family, Terry grew up in El
Paso, Texas. In 1988, she began attending the
University of Arizona on a music scholarship,
while majoring in Media Arts with the hope of
pursuing a career in broadcast journalism.
While at the U of A
and living with her oldest sister and her
family, Terry began attending Calvary Chapel.
Though the years to come would include periods
when she strayed from Christ, the Lord always
drew her back, closer to Him each time. In 1990,
and again in 1998 at a Calvary women’s retreat,
Terry rededicated her life to the Lord,
realizing that He wanted to be her best friend,
biggest supporter, and the one and only in
charge of her life. She is so thankful Jesus
never let her go!
In 1996, Terry was
hired as a reporter at KGUN 9-TV, the ABC
affiliate in Tucson. The next year, she married
Steven LaFrance, a handsome, hard-working
musician and teacher who had left his hometown
of Woburn, Massachusetts for the warm, beautiful
desert southwest.
In July of 2005,
Steven & Terry welcomed their baby girl Brooke
Emmalen into their lives and their hearts.
Wanting more than anything to stay at home and
take care of Brooke, Terry sought the Lord daily
for an opportunity to work mainly from home. As
only He can, God provided a job that allows
Terry to continue to use her media skills, raise
her baby girl, and work for the body.
Terry is blessed to
work with the talented team on the “Practical
Christian Living” staff at Calvary. She shares
production responsibilities for Pastor Robert’s
Practical Christian Living radio and television
programs, including writing and voicing the
introductions for the PCL radio program.
